Apple aperture el capitan12/7/2023 That my very well featured and streamlined FlickrExport Uploader for Aperture wasn't working after switching to the new system was very disconcerting. Specifically in my case going from OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) to OS 10.12.6 (Sierra). If your FlickrExport Aperture Plugin stopped working after upgrading your Apple OS or switching computers.įlickrExport Aperture Plugin 4.1.2 originally by Connected Flow then Fat Cat Software, no longer supported. I don't know if you got FlickrExport for Aperture working again, but here is what I found out: If it doesn't have uploading I can always go back to doing that manually (like I used to). I can probably keep using Aperture for another few years, so I'm holding out for an Affinity product. They also have free trials so they may be worth looking at for you. Last time I used one of their products they had really good refund policies. I'm getting emails about their beta testing and I'm thinking of giving it a whirl. ON1 looks like they might be a reasonable alternative. Yes, shame they aren't there already, or I'd consider them for my big move. Not so certain about Flickr linking, though. Given how impressed I've been with Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer, I have hopes it will do what I need for DAM. It is still the best in digital asset management a huge disappointment that Apple has given up on it! What are you using (Flickr uploadr) or can you recommend another one?Īffinity is currently working on a DAM application. Yes, Aperture uploading functionality was very good. Syncing with Flickr is one of Aperture's unique properties though. In my opinion, the death of FlickrExport isn't significant since there are alternatives for uploading images to Flickr. So no way I am able to restore this functionality for Aperture :-( Unfortunately Fat Cat Software has given up on FlickrExport and so no update from their site. I would be delighted if that isn't the case, though! I'm afraid this may be a permanent condition: if we deauthorize a computer we won't be able to reauthorize it, and we won't be able to authorize a new computer. You are absolutely right! The authentification has been modified and so unfortunately no luck with aperture and so I guess I would need to contact Fat Cat software! Thanks for your reaction! If you use FlickrExport it would make sense to contact Fat Cat Software about the problem: I wonder if this is part of the same issue? I contacted tech support and was told that Flickr has changed their authentication code and as Aperture is a dead product it doesn't make sense to update FlickrExport. I'm using FlickExport and uploads work fine, although replacing pictures has stopped working. no popup request from flickr to confirm the authorization. I tried a tool called flickrexport and is running in the same problem. Thanks! I have already tried this but did it again and no nothing! Are cookies enabled? Try 'Always Allow' temporarily. The second time I try to authenticate Aperture I end up with the following web-page:ĭisable Safari extensions. I did remove the OSX permissions and the Aperture uploader were already removed but unfortunately it didn't help. Then add your Flickr account in the Aperture Preferences. Try removing permissions for the Aperture Uploader and Apple OS X from your Flickr account: Settings/Sharing&Extending I am desperate and hope to get some help here. I have tried different browsers, removed cookies, removed keychain entries, etc I followed the steps described in but no luck. Going to the login process works but I expect a popup to allow the authorization of Aperture but nothing of that. I start the process to set up an account and it then starts the login process for flickr on Safari. I can't get the flickr account set up working and so I am unable to upload any photos. On my new iMac everything is running fine except 1 thing. I still love it and everything worked on my previous iMac, which was running Sierra. Yes I am still using Aperture and might move to Photos when High Sierra comes out. I recently purchased a new iMac and moved my Aperture library to this new machine.
